Where are the beans grown?
Gourmet coffee is harvested only from high grown Arabica plants. Arabica coffee is grown in the moist mountainous regions of the tropics anywhere between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn below the equator. Coffee is grown from sea level to 7000 feet, but higher quality grades are grown between 4000 and 7000 feet in the shade.
When are the beans picked and processed?
The berries are picked only when ripe. They are either dry or wet processed. After the process, the beans are graded according to size, color, shape, ripeness, and the altitude at which they were grown. The fewer the defects, the higher the grade. Only high-grade coffees are used at Sue’s Coffee Roasting Company.
How is the roasting done at Sue’s?
Roasting is done in small batches at Sue’s and is simple in theory. Green beans are heated to temperatures of 460° - 480° F. They are kept moving to avoid uneven roasting, and then cooled.

Espresso
A dark roast with a full-bodied and rich flavor – slightly sharp, never bitter. $12.95/lb.

Darker than Espresso – a smoky bittersweet tang and no acidy taste. $12.95/lb.
Blends
House
A medium roast that combines rich Indonesian with slightly acidic Costa Rica – full bodied with slight spicy acidity. $12.95/lb.
International
A sweet and rich earthy blend from Central America, Africa, and Indonesia. Med to Dark roast. $12.95/lb.
Single Origins
Organic Mexico - Seasonally available
Our Mexican coffee comes from the high mountains, often from the Chiapas area or Oaxaca. Mexican coffee is something like a light white wine, delicate in body with a dry acidy taste. Light roast. $12.95/lb.
Organic Costa Rica
Our Costa Rican coffee is rich with a full body and frangrance. A Coffea Arabica with a sweet, bright, fruity flavor. Medium roast. $12.95/lb.
Colombia
An excellent coffee with caramel sweetness, bright, but not overly acid. Wonderful aroma. Medium roasted. $12.95/lb.
Guatemala
Smooth, medium-bodied with a nutty flavor and notes of dark chocolate. Light to medium roasted. $12.95
Ethiopian
A fully washed coffee with full body, low acid, sweet and fruity. Darker roasted. $12.95/lb
Tanzania
A tasteful cup with full body and balanced acidity. A fragrant coffee with bright citrus notes and a smooth woodsy finish. Medium roasted. $12.95/lb.
